François Roy founded Vertigo in 2001 in order to live off the mountains and to contribute to the freeski industry in the East. Although Frank spent many years in the rockies and the Alps, it is here in the Chics-Chocs that he decided to commit himself. Frank is an active member of the Canadian Avalanche association.
Ever since his first visit as a client with Vertigo Adventures in 2004, Bruno has had the passion for Mt-Blanc. Always in tune with the spirit of these mountains, Bruno is inhabited by the concept that all is in nature and that we are nature. It is within this mindset and by fallowing the footsteps of his mentor François Roy that Bruno becomes, in 2009, splitboard guide. According to Bruno, splitboarding is the anwser. Photographer and videomaker, Bruno has wilderness first aid 40 h with SIRIUS and avalanche traning AST2. Bruno has what it takes to offer you a safe en enjoyable touring experience in the Chics-Chocs.
Benjamin W. Gagnon has been skiing the summits of the chics-chocs since the age of 12. Ben guided from 2007 to 2010 at Murdochville’s Chic-Chac and has been with Vertigo’s team since 2009. Ben has his level 1 avalanche operations level and is a Wilderness first aid instructor with SIRIUS. Ben is always motivaded to find the best first tracks that Mt-Blanc has to offer.
Jean-Raphael Lemieux has been piling experience in the backcountry skiing industry for over 15 years. One of the rare Quebec level 2 certified for professional avalanche safety CAA, JR has been teaching in adventure tourism for 9 years and worked as an avalanche forecaster. Without a doubt, JR has the ability and experience to contribute to Vertigo Aventures projects.
Marie-Pierre Martin completed an adventure tourism diploma in 2007. She is certified for wilderness firt aid 40 h with SIRIUS and avalanche safety skills level 2. She has many years of experience in business management and is an important asset for the COOP.
Jonathan Gougoux has been a guide for Vertigo since 2007. He completed his training in adventure Tourism in 2002 and has worked in many sectors of the industry since. Jonathan has AST 2 training in avalanche safety, wilderness first aid 40 h with SIRIUS, level 2 telemark and level 1 snowboard instructor. From the Magdeleine Islands to BC, Jonathan enjoys being in the outdoors for their beauty. His positive attitude and profesionnalism will make your stay!
Jean-François Michaud loves evolving in mountainous terrain. Passionate of cross-country running and ski touring, he is much appreciated from all types of skiers… the zen and the athletic! Jean-François has avalanche safety training level 1 and wilderness first aid SIRIUS 40 h. For Jean-François, guiding with Vertigo is the perfect way to share his passion for the mountains. Don’t be surprised if you hear him having as much fun as his clients on the way down!
Isabelle Blouin has been guiding in Quebec’s mountains for many years. Her mountain experiences in both BC and the Gaspé peninsula have contributed to Isabelle’s desire to share her passion for ski-touring with others and to get involved with Vertigo Adventures. Guiding in the Mt-Blanc area is constantly a unique and rich experience for Isabelle. Isabelle has avalanche safety training level 2 and wilderness first aid SIRIUS 40 h.
Geneviève Durocher has been living in the Gaspé since 1998. Her passion for the ocean, the rivers and the moutains brought her to this land of many opportunities. She works as an interpretation guide at Forillon National Parc in the summer and as a back-guide for Vertigo-Adventures in the winter. Geneviève has avalanche safety training level 2 and wilderness first aid SIRIUS 40 h. She has an AEC in eco-interpretation and another as a circus arts instructor. Geneviève enjoys all means of transportation on snow!
Danny Laperrière completed a DEC in adventure tourism in 2015. He has his level 1 professional avalanche operations and wilderness first responder SIRIUS 80 h. The Gaspé provides Danny with the same great outdoor sensation as he grew up with in Abitibi-Témiscamingue. Collaboration, cooperation and a sense of belonging are strong values that Danny appreciates with Vertigo Adventures.
