Standard Reservations:
Starting Monday, September 14, 2026, reservations are again on a first-come, first-served basis, according to the following guidelines:
- Check the remaining availability on our online calendar and Contact Us by email to confirm the dates you are interested in, the number of participants, and your objectives.
- We strongly encourage you to designate one person as the group coordinator, responsible for collecting payments and making a single payment for the reservation and the balance, as well as sharing important information with the rest of the group. The group coordinator will receive a 10% discount.Please form a group of 5 or more participants, with as similar a level of downhill skiing ability and physical fitness as possible. These conditions apply to both Mont Blanc and Mont Paul.Our maximum group size per guide/assistant team is 8 participants on Mont Blanc and 7 on Mont Paul. If an additional guide is required because of significant differences in ability levels within the group, additional fees will apply.
Our packages are not designed for beginners in backcountry skiing. Participants must have prior experience with backcountry skiing and must already be familiar with their equipment.
- We will send you an electronic invoice by email for a 50% deposit of the total cost of your trip, along with payment instructions. Please allow 1–2 weeks for processing. Each participant will also be required to complete an online registration form.
- The remaining 50% balance must be paid by December 31, although adjustments to the group may be made afterward. Ideally, if you use AccèsD, please transfer the funds directly to our account, or use Interac e-Transfer to vertigo@telus.net.
Once we have received your 50% deposit, your dates will be confirmed on the official Vertigo Aventures ski trip calendar!
Cancellations:
After December 1, deposits are non-refundable for personal reasons. However, a replacement participant may be found, with our assistance if necessary.
In the event of disastrous weather or snow conditions, Vertigo Aventures will offer you the choice of either a full refund* or applying your deposit toward a future trip. The latter option has the advantage of guaranteeing you a date for the following year.
*In either case, an administrative fee corresponding to 10% of the total package price will be retained.
If skiing conditions are marginal but travel in the mountains remains enjoyable, no refund will be issued. The Vertigo ski area offers several low-angle routes that make it possible to enjoy a very pleasant mountain experience when powder is scarce.
If one participant cancels for health reasons or a family emergency, that person may be refunded, but the per-person price will be adjusted according to the number of participants remaining in the group.
This new cancellation policy was recently adopted by the Board of Directors following the drastic decrease in group sizes during the winter of 2024, even when conditions were good. This situation placed the cooperative and its worker-members in a very difficult financial position. The goal is to better share climate-related risk between our clients and the organization.
Please note that it is up to the Vertigo team to cancel a trip due to conditions, not the clients. Such a decision can only be made within the 48 hours preceding the trip, given how difficult mountain conditions are to predict.
The microclimate of the Chic-Chocs is well known for producing snowfall at the end of weather systems. This phenomenon has saved more than one ski trip!
Illness, Pandemic:
We follow the rules and public health measures in effect at the time.
In practical terms, you are responsible for applying appropriate hygiene measures within your group in your yurt. For everyone’s benefit, we strongly recommend that anyone who is contagious not come, given the close quarters in the yurts and the high risk of infecting the entire group.
Evacuation and Trip Cancellation Insurance:
We strongly encourage you to purchase evacuation and trip cancellation insurance. These policies can greatly reduce the financial inconvenience associated with being evacuated by a third-party organization or having to cancel your trip.
The FQME offers evacuation insurance covering these costs at sites approved by the FQME, while CAA offers trip cancellation insurance.
