Vertigo’s base camp is located directly below Mt-Craggy’s most impressive lines and a few minutes approach of Mt-Blanc. Experience total freedom and live to the rythm of big runs at day and wood stoves at night.
The camp is made of three 22′ yurts and a prospector tent which together can host up to 15 clients and 4 guides The yurt is heated with a fire stove whereas the prospector tent is heated with an oil heater. The atmosphere at the base camp makes for an incredible area for après-skis and dining that is much appreciated by the clientele.
Participants are responsible for their food and drinks. Note that all necessary cooking gear is available at the camp. Drinking water is taken from a natural spring 200 m uphill from the camp. Clients are free to treat the water if desired.
Typically, clients arrive at night at St-Jean-de-Cherbourg’s Café / resto at 6PM for a good home-cooked meal after wich they are transported to Vertigo’s camp on a 1h15 snowmobile ride. Four powerful snowmobiles allow to pull sleds loaded with passengers, gear and food into the Matane Faunal Reserve, in the heart of the Chics-Chocs. You will then awake at the foot of the greatest skiable domaine in the East… ready to kick-off your first day of backcountry touring.
